Run Tachyon with Docker, or build it from source.

## Docker [#docker]

The image is built from a multi-stage Alpine/musl Dockerfile, kept small on
purpose:

```bash
docker run -p 8108:8108 -v tachyon-data:/data adikeshri/tachyon
```

* Exposes port `8108` (the HTTP API).
* Data is written under `/data` inside the container — mount a volume there
  so it survives restarts.
* The image's `HEALTHCHECK` runs `tachyon --healthcheck`, which pings a
  locally running instance and exits, rather than depending on `curl` or
  `wget` being present in the image.

## From source [#from-source]

Prefer a native binary? Build one from source with Cargo:

```bash
git clone https://github.com/adikeshri/tachyon
cd tachyon
cargo build --release
./target/release/tachyon --data-dir ./data
```

This requires a recent stable Rust toolchain. Configuration is entirely CLI
flags and environment variables — no config file to manage — listed in full
on the [Configuration](/docs/configuration) page.

A running instance also serves interactive API documentation (Swagger UI) at
`/docs` and the raw OpenAPI schema at `/api-docs/openapi.json` — useful for
exploring the API directly against your own instance, distinct from this
website's `/docs` and `/api` sections.
